Federal Child Support Guidelines

Child Support Calculator

Use the Government of Canada's official 2025 Child Support Table Look-up to estimate the basic monthly support amount. The lookup uses the paying parent's gross annual income, province or territory of residence, and number of children.

Open Official Child Support Calculator

An external Government of Canada tool. The updated federal tables apply from October 1, 2025 onward. For earlier periods, different tables may apply.

Important: This lookup estimates basic table support only. Shared parenting arrangements, section 7 special or extraordinary expenses, income determination and other circumstances may change the amount payable. It does not replace advice about your particular situation.

Ways to resolve family disputes

Mediation & Collaborative Family Law

Mediation

A neutral mediator helps people discuss disagreements and explore mutually acceptable solutions. Depending on the circumstances, mediation may help with parenting, support and other family matters.

Alberta family mediation information

Collaborative Family Law

In a collaborative process, parties and their lawyers work toward negotiated agreements rather than contested litigation. Suitability depends on each family's situation.

Our collaborative family law information

Neither approach is appropriate in every situation, particularly where family violence, coercion or a serious imbalance of power prevents safe participation.
